As the supposed expert around here dishing out advice, I figure it’s only fair for you to see my performance each season. I’ve included my Yahoo! results from the past two years below. Clearly I suck at basketball, so need to pay attention to that (though not at college pick ‘em). In four leagues, I’ve finished 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 6th (d’oh). They were all private leagues, so in future years I intend to play more public leagues so you can follow with more scrutiny. This will include some ThreeAndOut sanctioned leagues, so if you want to show your prowess, and perhaps win some prizes in the process, we welcome the challenge.
RockFish 2007 – First two draft picks: Larry Johnson and Ronnie Brown. Ugh. At least Brett Farve was a pleasant surprise. This was one of those “not meant to be” seasons, but to my credit I did manage to finish the regular season in 5th.
Dillon is a Jerk – I blame Willie Parker for breaking his league in our super bowl. My team was solid, but just couldn’t get it done in the championship. Finished the season in second, finished playoffs in second.
RockFish 2008 – Despite a dismal start, with the help of a few key pickups, I manged to end up in 4th place just in time for the playoffs. Caught a couple of lucky (ahem… skillful) breaks in the playoffs, and went home with the big trophy.
Squittle Squad – I don’t usually say “I deserved to finish…” in a place that I did not, but if ever I was going to use that line, it would be here. Finished in 3rd, but had a crap loss in the first round of the playoffs. Destroyed my opponent in the third place game, and easily scored the most points of all teams in the playoffs, but cruel fate was against me in the one.
