Three & Out

Week 15 marks the first week of playoffs in our league (4 team upper tier, 4 team lower tier).  Due to the mystery that is head to head, I’m riding the third seed into playoffs.  I could have taken first place (I know, everyone says that), but I decided to throw the game last week to ensure that my good buddy landed in fourth.  I finished second in points as a result, and will be playing the points leader, and 2nd place seed, in round 1.  To show you how wonky head to head can be, going into playoffs our number one seed team is actually 9th in points.  As I’ve heard said before, and tend to agree with, points is more fair, but head to head is more fun.

In my mind, my opponent this week will be much tougher than whoever I will face next week.  I did manage to beat him handily in week 13, but his team has the potential to go off at any position.  In addition, I have no TE at the moment (Kellen Winslow cannot be trusted in the playoffs, especially against the Eagles), so I still need to pick someone up.  Also, I have an incredibly tough decision regarding defense: ARI at home against MIN, or SEA on the road against STL.  I’m waiting to hear who gets the start at QB for MIN – if it is Tavaris Jackson, then I feel I have to go with ARI.  Otherwise, I might just flip a coin.

Bob Sanders is also a big toss up at the moment – his health is always suspect, and with Indy having an easy victory expected againstDET , Sanders may only play some of the game, if any of it.  I’m not sure who I’ll replace Sanders with if that happens.  Currently, with Kellen Winslow in my lineup, and no defense, Yahoo predicts my opponent to win by less than 1 point, so hopefully it is right, and after I plug in a defense I can count on them for at least a point.
